To contribute to the continuity, quality, and safety of care provided.
On December 17, a new delivery of medical and surgical supplies and small equipment was made to the health units in the districts of Ancuabe and Namuno, with the aim of strengthening healthcare for the local population.
This delivery is the result of joint planning, developed between the District Health Directorates (SDMSAS) of both districts and the technicians of the peripheral health units, who, with technical support from medicusmundi, carried out a participatory process to identify priority needs and define the essential supplies for the operation of the units.
The materials delivered are primarily intended for Primary Health Care, with a special focus on maternal and child health, contributing to improved care conditions, continuity of services, and an appropriate response to the needs of the population, especially pregnant women, new-borns, and children.
This action aims to contribute to the continuity, quality, and safety of care provided, strengthening the capacity of health units to respond effectively to the main health needs of communities, as well as reinforcing the local health system through a coordinated and participatory approach based on needs identified on the ground.
This initiative is part of the joint efforts of district health authorities and medicusmundi to improve access to quality health services, promoting a more efficient and sustainable response aligned with local priorities.
This activity is part of the AECID Agreement 22-CO1-398 “Improving the quality, coverage and resilience of the healthcare system in Cabo Delgado”, implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with the National Healthcare System of Mozambique, and financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), with co-financing from the Catalan municipalities of Rubí and Sant Cugat del Vallès.
