Strengthening PHC

Strengthening the response capacity of health centres and improving the quality of care for the population.

On March 26 and 24, medical supplies and basic equipment were delivered to the districts of Ancuabe and Namuno, respectively, with the aim of strengthening the response capacity of health centres and improving the quality of care for the population.

In Ancuabe, the supplies are intended to support primary care consultations, including general consultations, prenatal care, and emergency services, as well as to strengthen the laboratory for conducting complementary tests. The delivery covered Ancuabe-Sede and the Metoro Health Centre, contributing to improved care and diagnostic conditions.

In Namuno, support focused on the maternity ward of the Meloco Health Centre, providing equipment that improves conditions for hospitalized patients.

This delivery is the result of a needs assessment process carried out in coordination with the District Health Services, with the participation of local technical teams and the support of medicusmundi, thus ensuring the relevance and suitability of the supplies provided to the priorities on the ground.

This activity contributes to more accessible, safer, and higher-quality healthcare, with a special focus on maternal and child health.

This activity is part of the AECID Agreement 22-CO1-398 “Improving the quality, coverage, and resilience of the Cabo Delgado healthcare system”, implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with the Mozambican National Health System, and funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), with co-financing from the Municipality of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
