Graduation of 15 women survivors of Gender-Based Violence who completed the Comprehensive Cooking Course in Maputo.
Each class was a firm step toward rebuilding their self-esteem.
On December 12, 2025, at the Khessany Vocational Training Centre in Maputo, a graduation ceremony was held for 15 women survivors of gender-based violence who successfully completed the Comprehensive Cooking Course.
The training is part of the project "Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo (Mozambique) - Phase 2" and represents much more than the acquisition of technical skills. For these women, each class was a firm step toward rebuilding their self-esteem, strengthening their autonomy, and creating new income opportunities.
Today’s moment symbolizes the beginning of a new stage in their lives, a stage marked by hope, independence, and confidence in the future. Upon receiving their certificates, these women demonstrated that, when given the right tools and ongoing support, they can transform challenges into opportunities and pave the way to a more dignified and secure life.
This activity is part of the implementation of the project "Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo (Mozambique) - Phase 2", funded by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD) and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with Associação Hixikanwe and Rede HOPEM.
