On October 1 and 2, 2025, the city of Maputo will host Conference on Gender-Based Violence, a landmark event that will be held in a hybrid format, both in person and online.
Weaving Networks, Sharing Experiences, Building the Future
Under the theme "Weaving Networks – Sharing Experiences – Building the Future", this conference seeks to bring together national and international strategic stakeholders to reflect on strategic responses to gender-based violence in Mozambique. The conference is organized by medicusmundi in collaboration with Associação Hixikanwe and Rede Hopem, and is funded by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD).
The event will feature participation from civil society organizations, government institutions, experts, young leaders, international partners, and media professionals, creating a space for dialogue, sharing experiences, and building synergies.
Also present are representatives from INTRESS - Institute of Social Work and Social Services, based in Barcelona, a non-profit organization that, within its portfolio of services and support for people in vulnerable situations, includes the area of equality and feminism.
This activity is part of the implementation of the project "Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo (Mozambique) - Phase 2", funded by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD) and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with Associação Hixikanwe and Rede Hopem.
