Social Determinants of Health

The different actors face several challenges in following GBV cases at the municipal district level.

This first Therapy Circle aimed to raise awareness among the group mentioned above to be very vigilant in reporting and forwarding cases of GBV and contributing to communities being well informed, so that together we can put an end to these cases. The various entry points (health, police, prosecutor's office, social action) and the multisectoral mechanism for integrated care for victims of GBV were also presented in this therapy circle. The different actors (activists, community, and religious leaders, among others) face several challenges in following GBV cases at the municipal district level, which must be resolved.

At the end of the meeting, each participant became responsible for doing their part to combat Gender-Based Violence, reporting and forwarding any case related to this scourge.

This activity was led by the Municipal Commission on Social Determinants of Health assigned to the Municipal Health Directorate, with the support of medicusmundi, as part of the implementation of the project "Social Determinants of Health: The best strategy against COVID19 in Maputo", financed by the Municipality from Barcelona.
