In Mozambique since 1994, we celebrate, in 2019, 25 years of presence in the country.
Over the course of two and a half decades we have developed a vast and solid work in three main areas: Right to Health, Environmental Rights and Cultural Rights.
In the world, we have been for over 50 years, but to Mozambique we came in 1994. This is the year we celebrate 25 years of presence in the country. Over the course of these two and a half decades we have developed a vast and solid work in three main areas: Right to Health, Environmental Rights and Cultural Rights. Through numerous projects, our main objective is to guarantee the Right to Health.
Our interventions are essentially aimed at strengthening the public health system, by improving primary care delivery and implementing policies that contribute to enhance living conditions that impact on health. As mining activity has a strong presence in the north of the country and involves a high risk to health and the environment, we also dedicate some of our projects to making artisanal mining a less harmful and more sustainable practice. Finally, we encourage the creative industry to produce content on issues relevant to public health as a way to promote social transformation, with particular focus on documentary cinema.
In 25 years we have worked directly in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Inhambane, Gaza and Maputo, but there is a national dimension to most of our interventions. To mark this quarter-century trajectory in Mozambique, we have created a commemorative logo that will be used throughout our institutional communication for one year.
