Distribution of Dignity Kits to Vulnerable Women

On October 13, 14 and 16, within the framework of the Humanitarian Action Project 2022-2024 financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the co-financing of the municipalities of Granollers, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Rubí , medicusmundi, through its collaborators and activists in the resettlement centers, carried out the first cycle of distribution of dignity kits to vulnerable women, victims of the armed conflict in the North of the province of Cabo Delgado and resettled in the districts of Montepuez and Namuno.

This activity began with the registration of 1,500 vulnerable women.

The dignity kits are composed of: 1 20 liter bucket, 1 1000 ml cup, 4 200 ml glasses, 6 plates, 1 flashlight, 2 panties, 2 capulana (fabric) and 2 reusable pads.

This activity began with the registration of 1,500 vulnerable women in the five (5) resettlement centers where the project is being implemented: Nangume and Nanona (Ancuabe), Mirate and Mararange (Montepuez) and Niquiriquele (Namuno).

In this first phase, a total of 642 kits were distributed to the same number of women. In the Montepuez district, 300 women in Mirate and 300 in Mararange were benefited from the kits; In the Namuno district, 142 women from Nquiriquele were benefited.

During the kits' delivery , the beneficiary women and local authorities, as well as the post heads of Mirate and the village of Mararange, expressed their satisfaction with the support offered by medicusmundi, in favor of humanitarian aid to the displaced population. in resettlement centers.

In addition to the 642 kits distributed, another 848 kits are in the process of being distributed in the Nangume and Nanona resettlement centers, both in the Ancuabe district, as well as the delivery of work materials to activists and medical-surgical material in the health facilities in Metoro, Mirate and Niquiriquele, where displaced people go.
