On 5 April we had the first meeting with the ten trainers on our Intensive Social Documentary Course, all of whom have substantial experience in cinema and Mozambique. As well as confirming the objectives and programmatic content of the course, there was excellent discussion on the most appropriate strategies for running it.
The course comprises eight modules: directing, producing, distribution, camera, screenplay, lighting, sound and editing/finalising. It is being developed in partnership with ISArC (Higher Institute of Art and Culture) and AMOCINE (Mozambican Filmmakers Association). The application process for course candidates began on 1 April and will continue to 30 April.
